A bunch of High School kids from Wisconsin were at Road America yesterday with the cars they built in school. No .... Jack Black was not involved

What a great idea! I thought those with teenagers might like to steer their kids into programs like this. I understand they want to expand the program.

I am not sure of the details but it is a fabricated axle that has an upright on each end which takes two VW ball joints and a VW spindle. Those are the spindles, hub, brakes, and wheel as used on our Formula FST cars. I believe most of the cars are using Briggs & Stratten engines although one of the cars had some electric setup and made a cool whirring nose. They are still playing around with rear axle configurations.
The bodywork is the Mysterian M5 FV/FST bodywork as used on the Mystique FST car which was run by Scott Meyer at the Birthday Party. The bodywork and many of the parts were provided by Sugar Grove Custom Cars who sponsors one of the cars and builds Mysterian FST cars.
While the educational focus is on the manufacturing process, the racing is definitely much of the attraction.
Rumor has it that some of the students ignored incoming text messages while working on the car
